Shower Design Spotlight: Splash Panels

Frameless splash panels, also known as “shower screens,” have been a mainstay of European bathrooms for decades. Americans and their growing love of open concept design have embraced this type of enclosure as a stylish alternative to traditional shower curtains or fully enclosed tubs.

Splash panels are traditionally clear glass, but specialty glass is also an option, if you’d like a bit more privacy. You can go with a textured look, or choose frosted or etched glass. Looking for something with rounded corners? We can do that too!

Two things to keep in mind when considering a Splash Panel design:

  • Without a door to keep in the steam, open showers may feel a bit “drafty”.
  • Depending on placement of the shower head, overspray may escape the enclosure. Proceed with caution when putting in a child’s bathroom. Handheld showerheads are also not recommended.
