What products and services Does Shower Doors of Austin offer?
Shower Doors of Austin fabricates and installs precision-cut, custom glass doors and enclosures for showers and baths in three popular design types — frameless, semi-frameless, and framed — complete with hardware in a variety of designer styles and finishes. For those who purchase a shower enclosure, we also offer additional services such as custom mirrors, glass shelving, glass table tops, back splashes, glass doors and dividers, and cabinet glass.
Do you offer remodeling services?
No. We specialize in glass products and work hand in hand with homeowners, remodelers, architects, and builders. However, if you need tile work, repairs, or a full bathroom remodel, we are happy to provide referrals.
How much does a shower enclosure cost?
Every shower enclosure project is different, and the cost depends on a number of factors. These include the type and structural configuration of the enclosure; the thickness, quantity, and shape of glass; the quantity, style, and brand of hardware; and any options, such pattern glass or specialty coatings. To get the most accurate pricing, call us to request a free in-home estimate.
What does a "standard" size shower or tub enclosure cost?
Unfortunately, there is no true standard, as no two bathrooms are built exactly the same. Shower head placement, tub sizes, structural layouts, and the needs of each customer vary from one home to the next.
How do I get a free estimate for my shower or batH enclosure?
Shower Doors of Austin offers three ways to get an estimate. All estimates are considered preliminary until construction work is complete and our technicians have taken final measurements on site.
We recommend calling to schedule a free on-site estimate after all remodeling, tile work, and repairs are complete in your tub or shower. Our experienced field technicians will take accurate measurements and provide pricing specific to your shower project. They can also help you select glass and hardware options that complement your bathroom design. We are available for pre-remodeling consultations should you like assistance in designing your enclosure.
We can provide ballpark estimates over the phone from your general description of the project, including enclosure type, configuration, glass style, etc. If you have measurements, we can provide a more accurate price.
Our convenient Online Request Form is an easy way to send us your project information 24/7. Use the step-by-step screens to select shower style, configuration, and design options. You may also upload pictures of your shower and include notes or questions for our estimators. Estimates are completed during business hours and typically emailed to you within one business day.
If I like the estimate, how do I place a firm order?
Placing a firm order requires three things:
If you received an estimate online or by phone, we'll need to schedule an appointment for one of our field technicians can take final measurements. While preliminary measurements are fine for estimating purposes, they are not detailed enough for fabrication. Final measurements need to be taken after all remodeling and tile work is complete.
We will review and confirm the details of your estimate, such as design type, glass selection, hardware options, and dimensions. We want your specifications to be correct as all materials are custom orders.
A 50 percent deposit is required to place an order, with the balance due upon completion. All major credit cards, checks, and cash are accepted. Your order will go into production upon receipt of the deposit payment.
What is the lead time from order to completed installation?
Typically, fabrication requires 7 to 10 business days from the time a firm order is placed. (Specialty options may take longer.) Once an installation day is set, most projects are completed in 2 to 6 hours, depending on their size and complexity. Projects with multiple enclosures may require several days.
The sealant on multi-panel shower enclosures needs 24 to 48 hours to cure completely before use. During this time you should not touch, move, or disturb the enclosure, as movement of the door or any part of the structure may cause functional problems and result in aesthetic issues.
What's the difference between regular glass, Low-iron Glass, and Satin Glass?
Regular clear glass contains varying amounts of iron, which gives the material a slight green tint which becomes more apparent as the glass gets thicker. Low-iron glass has been specially formulated to produce a more color neutral result. Satin Etch and SatinDeco glass has been acid etched to produce a frosted look that offers privacy with a soft-focus effect.
